Last Friday, the 2nd Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Students’ Moot was held at the Queensland Supreme Court. Ten Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander law students representing three universities participated. UQ represented by Zachary Frazer and Mollie O’Connor won the competition after a hard fought final against Bethany Allen and Joan Cassimatis who represented Bond University. QUT was unsuccessful in the preliminary round against Bond. The UQ team also took out the best written submissions and UQ team member, Mollie O’Connor won best oralist. It was another wonderful and inspiring day to observe the future of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander legal practitioners. All participants are to be commended on their performances.
